It is our great pleasure to announce the creation of a new Award on the occasion of the 2013 edition of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

 

Italy wants to extend its artistic friendship and cooperation to the European Companies participating to this year’s edition of the Fringe by establishing a new award like no other…….

 

Devised by Infallible Productions Ltd. as part of its IMPATTO TOTALE project (the branding of the Italian Companies participating to Edfringe on behalf of the Italian Cultural Institute in Edinburgh) with the precious collaboration of the prestigious La MaMa festival in Spoleto and the Comune di Spoleto, IMPATTO TOTALE - THE AWARD will unique connotations: the artists of the Italian Companies at this year's Fringe will select the shortlist of European productions for the final assessment by this Award's Jury.

 

The coveted prize will be the chance of performing at next year’s edition of La MaMa Festival in Spoleto, Italy.

 

The Jury will comprise:

Stefania del Bravo, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Edinburgh

Stefania Bochicchio, Director, Infallible Productions Ltd.

Adriana Garbagnati and Andrea Paciotto from La MaMa Umbria International

Dr. Andrea Brunello PHD

 

We are also honoured to have on our jury SILVIA GALLERANO (Fringe First Award 2012,

Best Performer, Arches Brick Award 2012, Total Theatre Award (Nomination), Premio Della

Critica 2012. for the monologue The SHIT (LA MERDA)

 

This First Edition of IMPATTO TOTALE – THE AWARD will be dedicated, with the kind cooperation of Comune di Spoleto, to the memory of VINCENZO CERAMI (2 November 1940 – 17 July 2013)

It was Vincenzo who first thought of contacting from Spoleto Kath Maitland chief executive of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society out of his admiration for the Edinburgh Fringe.

We trust he would have approved of our homage to his talent, career and deep understanding of the Arts.

 

 

Vincenzo Cerami was an Italian screenwriter. Beginning in 1967 he contributed, wrote or adapted screenplays for more than 40 films. In 1999 he was nominated for the Academy Award for Original Screenplay for the Roberto Benigni's film Life Is Beautiful
